Écovolontariat au Perou : Rapport mensuel
Rapport mensuel à partir de 2016 (en anglais)
As many countries enter the long summer vacations at Taricaya we prepared for our busy season with many helping hands arriving in the form of our 2 week special volunteers.
First of all my apologies in the delay in getting this latest update to you but as you will see we have been incredibly busy. We have been preparing for the upcoming turtle season, studying our spectacled bears, rebuilding animal enclosures and much more.
Another busy few weeks in the jungle has seen us open up our mist nets, modify our second bear enclosure, visit our Ese’eja neighbours and amazingly the capture an relocation of a wild jaguar. The first ever operation of its kind in Peru!
With the holiday period over and new faces arriving to help, 2016 has continued where last year left off. The onslaught of the rainy season has not prevented us from pushing on and we have been busy in the rescue centre, clearing away the storm damage on our trails and welcoming old friends to help out with our biodiversity research. Everybody has been working hard and things are looking good for the New Year…
