Interning abroad in Southeast Asia with Projects Abroad is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in a new country and culture while doing valuable work and gaining international experience for your resume. Whether you are interested in an internship in business, medicine and healthcare, journalism, law and human rights, or international development, Projects Abroad offers a variety of internships in a wide range of settings and fields in Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as many other destinations around the world.
By interning in Southeast Asia you will make a great contribution to a developing economy and learn a great deal about your chosen field. From helping developing communities tackle issues such as drugs and alcohol, prostitution, and the rights of the disabled in Vietnam, to assisting local entrepreneurs with growing their businesses in Cambodia, interns gain unique experience being directly involved in professional environment overseas, an experience that varies greatly from anything available in North America and that will set you apart. Depending on the program, interns work anywhere from 30 – 40 hours a week. While knowledge of the native language in the country where you are interning is usually not necessary, most interns will be expected to be proficient in both verbal and written English.
Our interns come from all over the world, and your international internship in Southeast Asia will give you a broader perspective on the world and a deeper understanding of different cultures. You will learn a great deal from your placement and gain further insight into your chosen field, while at the same time providing valuable assistance to your host community.
