We've run some amazing projects in India over the years, but in 2016 we're shifting focus to Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Our programs in India are closed until further notice.

Come and join one of our established projects in Sri Lanka or Nepal.

If you've got your heart set on India, get in touch and we'll let you know when we're accepting volunteers again.

Learn Hindi in India

UPDATE: India Programs Closed in 2016

Overview

An ancient building in India.

Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique and fascinating Indian culture on one of our Hindi Language Courses. Hindi is spoken by approximately 258 million people in India and for volunteers based in Jaipur, it is an ideal way to gain an understanding of the people and the community around you. Being able to speak some Hindi will be especially useful if you choose to participate on another volunteer program.

In India, you can take part in an intensive course which lasts from two weeks upwards. You will receive 15 hours of personal classes per week and you will also be accommodated with a Hindi speaking local family, giving you plenty of opportunity to practice what you have learned. After your lessons you will, of course, have plenty of time to complete your homework and explore the area with other volunteers.

After completing your Hindi Language Course, you could choose to spend time working on a Teaching or Care project in India, giving you further chances to practice and improve your language skills. We also have a variety of other projects available in India.

You can also choose to study Hindi while participating in a volunteer placement. Our 14-hour or 30-hour Hindi Language Courses can be done alongside your volunteer placement in India to improve your language skills. If you are planning on volunteering abroad for twelve weeks or more, you could also complete a 60-hour course alongside your placement. For more information please visit our Language Add-ons page.
