Working as a Business Intern in Africa– What Can I Expect?
As a business intern in Africa, you will be placed at either Where Rainbows Meet Training, an NGO in Vryground, just outside of Cape Town or a at the Business Entrepreneurship Center, a program providing practical experience for disadvantaged in the community of Pinelands. At Where Rainbows Meet Training, interns are involved with many aspects of the development organization, such as project management, human resources, grant applications, and may also take part in coordinating events run by the foundation. Interns at the Business Entrepreneurship will be involved in a variety of tasks, including working with business students from disadvantaged communities, and training entrepreneurs from townships. Interns are usually required to work and average of 35 hours per week. English is the most commonly spoken language in South Africa and business interns will be expected to be proficient in it.
