Scholarships and Financial Aid for Volunteer Work

Projects Abroad interns and staff prepare to host a medical outreach in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Projects Abroad does not have the capacity to offer scholarships and financial aid to volunteers. This is because we do not receive any outside financial support ourselves. Instead, the program fees you pay help support meaningful projects around the world and provide you with everything you need to volunteer abroad.

We are happy to help with suggestions and ideas on fundraising for your trip. There are lots of ways to raise the necessary funds and we recommend looking at as many of them as possible!

External Scholarships

While Projects Abroad cannot provide financial aid directly, the following external scholarships may be available to be applied to Projects Abroad programs. Please note Projects Abroad has no affiliation with any of these scholarships and cannot help you apply for or secure any possible funding they may offer.

Credit and Financial Aid

Many students join Projects Abroad with approval from their college or university. In this case it is sometimes possible to get credit or financial aid from your school directly. Please see our University Credit page for more information on how to apply for credit or financial aid from your school.
