Short Term Volunteer Trips Abroad

Volunteer abroad for as little as one to two weeks and become part of our ongoing efforts to support communities

You can make a difference abroad on one of our short term service trips. With Projects Abroad, you’ll become part of our ongoing efforts to support local communities, even if your trip is only two weeks long. The combined efforts of our volunteers go a long way in helping others or protecting the environment.

On most of our Flexi Trips, you can choose your start and finish dates. This makes it easy to fit a volunteer project or global internship into your busy schedule. We want as many people to experience volunteering as possible, so don’t let your limited time get in the way of that.

We also run short-term trips with fixed dates at certain times of the year. Here, you’ll join other volunteers from around the world to tackle a specific challenge. We offer Team Trips, High School Specials, and Grown-up Specials. Most of these trips run for two weeks at a time.

Even spending one or two weeks in another country can impact your life in a big way. The life lessons you’ll learn through cultural immersion and serving others can stick with you for many years.

What will I gain from a short-term service trip?

Volunteering or interning abroad is an exciting and different way to make the most of a short break during high school or college. Our service trips can also be used to gain community service credit or practical experience in your field of study.

You can choose an internship abroad to boost your resume for future applications. Challenge yourself in a real-world work setting that will give you global experience. For example, you could observe neurosurgery at a hospital in Shanghai, China. Or, you could work with a local entrepreneur and help them build a business to support their family in Tanzania.

Get a step ahead in your career, expand your resume, and realize your potential.

We run fixed-date trips with set itineraries to help you make the most out of a short time abroad. These itineraries balance service work with exploring the country you’re in. You’ll also participate in cultural activities, as well as social events and weekend trips.

All your activities are with other volunteers from around the world. You’ll make new friends and build your own global network. There’s also 24/7 staff support on each of our trips to make sure your trip runs smoothly.

High School Specials: Make a difference with other teenagers from around the world. These projects are available for ages 15-18.
